Here’s a rhyme that my mam always says when she sneezes:
One’s a wish
Two’s a kiss
Three’s a letter
Four’s something better.
I just sneezed four times in a row. Something good must be going to happen this afternoon.
I always wondered what it meant if you sneezed more than four times in a row. My guess is you’ve got a really bad cold 😉
I love that!!
In Italian, it’s Salute for the first sneeze, Soldi for the second and Amore for the third. Health, money, love. I always try to go for all three. I was never taught what the 4th would get, though!
sleepyjane – good isn’t it? My mum’s full of random superstitions and sayings 😀
Lauren – ooh, I want to be Italian now – I want money and love when I sneeze!
My Mom always said:
One’s a wish,
Two’s a kiss,
Three’s an inspiration.
Four’s a letter,
Five’s something better.
And I don’t know what’s after 5, lol!
does any one know if there is any more lines to this ryhme, I thought it went up to ten but only know up to four.
The way I leerned it from my Scottish folks:
One’s a wish
Two’s a kiss
Three’s a dissappointment
Four’s a letter
Five is better
and six…
we;; nobody knows six, but we surmise that you have a cold or allergies or something….
