Guys… this is my final Friday letters post for January. How did that happen?! I’m kind of freaking out right now because it’s February on Sunday and we still don’t even know what country we’ll be moving to. And Jan may or may not be spending Monday-Thursday in Munich for most of Feburary. The good news is the tax advisors got back to us. The bad news is they didn’t have all the answers, so now we have to contact the Ausländeramt (foreigners registration office) in Basel and some people who know about insurance. Ugh, so much to sort out, so little time! Anyway… letters!
Dear train conductor. If we haven’t even entered the tunnel yet, we will not be reaching our destination in a few minutes. Shut up and let me sleep!
Dear weather. I can cope with cold, I can cope with rain, but does it really have to be a mixture of both plus wind to blow it all in my face?!
Dear spare room. You currently look like you’ve been hit by a hurricane. I promise to do something about that this weekend!
Dear shredder. I hope you’re prepared for some action – I shall have lots of papers for you when I’m done with the spare room!
Dear readers. I hope your weekends are more relaxing than mine is shaping up to be!
Happy Friday, everyone. Have a great weekend!
I think train conductors go to a special training school where they learn how to maximise annoyance of their passengers. They either give announcements too early, or too late, or they turn the volume right up which makes us jump, or they stuff socks in their mouths before they speak so that we can’t understand a word!
Oh my goodness the weather here has been SO BRUTAL too! This morning it’s a bit overcast so I actually sun and I am beaming with happiness!!
How stressful that you still don’t know where you’re going to be living … fingers crossed you know more soon 🙂
Yay, sun! I wish we had some of that. Hopefully we will know more next week. I actually told my boss I should know by the end of January. Oops!
Your move is coming up so soon, how exciting, yet stressful I am sure. The weather here has thankfully just been cold but sunny!
Yes,exciting and terrifying! I’ve forgotten what sun looks like!
Hopefully soon everything gets figured out and it won’t be so stressful!! 😦 I hate when it’s raining and there’s wind. But one or the other I don’t mind at all.
Thanks. I’m still wondering how we’re going to manage viewing the flats!
Ugh, the weather just sucks at the moment! I might just curl up for the weekend – or go out. Wonder which will win 😉
It’s snowing here now!
The snow is all gone again here now!
Same here. Rain washed it all away.
I feel your pain on the not-knowing-where-you’ll-be-living business. We sold our house at the end of October and the 5 month closing date seemed like MORE THAN ENOUGH time to find a new place. We are now inside a 60-day window and NOTHING. NOTHING. BAH!
Aargh, that sounds even more stressful! I hope you find something soon!
Nope! This weekend I am taking it upon myself to gut this house and make it spic and spa – enough is enough!
Ooh, good luck with that! I need to tidy too.
I hope you can figure everything out soon! Fingers crossed! Have a good weekend! I will meet my girls tomorrow night but otherwise I will just spend lots of time inside.
Thanks. Enjoy your time with the girls.
Oh good luck with everything.Sounds very hectic.Xx
Thank you!
Its funny how things suddenly creep up on you especially when you don’t want it to as you need more time but things always have a way of sorting themselves out. The combination of rain and wind is the worse weather I would avoid it if you can hehe 🙂
I hate having rain blown in my face! Especially freezing rain. It actually snowed last night though.
Yeah, I’m sure we will get everything sorted. I’m expecting lots of rushing around in the meantime though!
Yes, I hate this weather. It snowed on Friday evening but it’s all been washed away by torrential rain now.
I wish I had a shredder at home. I need one so much! But they never seem to last long so it seems like a huge expense.
We bought one purely so we can shred all the papers we don’t want to drag along with us when we move. We bought the 2nd cheapest one – about 30 euros.
Urgh the weather, I agree. Cold, wet and windy, no thank you.
Hmmm are you ready for the snow in Switzerland? Will that be more manageable than the rain?
I lived in Austria for 10 months and it snowed from November to about March/April, so I’ve had some practice at least… plus I won’t need to commute in it any more 😉
