Is there any point in doing a Friday letters post when I just did a catch up post for the entire month of August yesterday? Could I possibly have anything left in my life to write letters to? Well, yes I could actually! Here they are:
Dear Switzerland. On Tuesday, I saw Lebkuchen in my local supermarket. On Tuesday it was still August! I know I’ve been stitching Christmas designs, but that’s no excuse for you to get the Christmas biscuits out. Just no, okay?
Dear little brother. I hope you had a fantastic 10th birthday yesterday. (Also, how is it you’re in double figures now?! Aargh, I feel old!)
Dear weather. If you could just stay like this for a week or two that would be fine. Warm but not OMG I’m actually going to die at any minute hot works just fine for me.
Dear autumn. I don’t need you short, miserable days and rain yet, but I am excited about all the autumn products that are starting to appear in the supermarkets. The return of pumpkin season? YES PLEASE!
Dear pumpkins. Speaking of your arrival in shops, why must you be so hard to cut? I would eat you every single day if only you weren’t so much work to prepare!
See, I told you I still had stuff to say? That’s enough for now though. Have a great weekend, everyone!
I buy pre-cut, vacuum-packed pumpkin. …sometimes imported from Guatemala! Shame on me 😦
I did that once but they rarely have it here.
So much easier… that’s the kind of “convenience food” I actually want!
Oh no, the Christmas biscuits are out already?! You’ve got me wondering if they’re out in our shops too, I will look later since I’ve got to pop to the shop anyway.
oh I’m looking forward to pumpkins and butternut squashes… the squashes are already in the shops!
I have never even tried to prepare a pumpkin (the people of my homeland normally just eat it out of a can), but I think I may make that a goal this season…
Aww, I didn’t know you had a little brother! Pumpkins are up there with butternut squash for me – delicious but rarely cooked because of the cutting issue!
Pumpkins! I must do more experimenting with them this year in addition to cooking a delicious pumpkin/cheesy bake thing which is the only dish I have ever made with one.
Sigh… I wish I was writing letters to Switzerland. Haha!
I am so ready for fall and pumpkins and HALLOWEEN! Haha 🙂
