A few weeks ago I shared a bit of this year’s Christmas stitching with you. Now that I’ve made a few cards, I thought you might want to see what came of some of those designs, plus a few more that I’ve stitched since then. Obviously I couldn’t take all the photos in the same place, because that would be too professional or something?! (Insert eye rolling smiley here)
Any favourites here? Personally I like the “Santa stop here” one, because although it’s simple it’s effective. And I think the JOY one came out well too.
Apologies for the quality of the photos. One day I will figure out how to take good pictures of cross stitch!
Good job! The elf one is cute. How long does each card take to make? Can you cross stitch while watching tv or do you need to focus?
It depends what we’re watching and how complicated the stitching is 😉
They take anywhere between 2 and 6 hours.
awww i love the santa stop here one! we used to have a sign we put in the front yard that said that. so cute!
Great job with these! Think the joy one is my favourite – super cute!
Thank you. The Joy one came out well 🙂
I think the little elf dude is cute!
The friend he is for is obsessed with elves this Christmas 😉
Wait these are so awesome! I love the Noel one.
Thank you! I hope the person I sent it to will love it too.
These are so adorable!
Thank you!
I love JOY and the elf! So cute. You really make me want to get back into cross-stitch.
They look super! How long ddid each one take you? I’m always intrigued about the timescale of making one’s own cards! I like the Noel and Snowman one best!
The stitching can take anywhere between 2 and 5 hours, depending on the size, number of colours and whether I end up unpicking half of it or not. The cards themselves are relatively quick to make up, although I find that part the most annoying… double-sided sticky tape is my nemesis!
I love the snowman! Did you create these designs yourself? They’re all very lovely!
Most of them are from magazines. The “Santa stop here” one is my own though – I had the sticker and wanted to stitch something to go with it.
These are great. What lovely cards to give to someone. I really like the elf one.
These are great. I really like the Santa stop one, and the snowman on the blue aida
Thank you! I designed the Santa stop one… it’s simple, but still mine 🙂
Well done you! (That was not meant to sound patronising)
